for Area Coordinators and Registered Individuals

Child Cancer Foundation Street Appeal campaign is scheduled for Friday 8th and Saturday 9th March 2024.  Thank you for your interest in volunteering to help Kiwi kids with cancer and their families. 

  1. VOLUNTEER PLATFORM

Child Cancer Foundation use the online platform PurposeTech for volunteer rostering. By providing us with your information (name, contact details, etc), either by entering that information onto the PurposeTech platform or providing it to us, you acknowledge that we will use this system to collect, store, and use that information.  If you do not provide us with this information, we may be unable to engage with you.

We will not use or disclose your personal information except when you have authorised us to do so, as provided in our Privacy Policy, or otherwise required or permitted by law, including following the Privacy Act 2020. PurposeTech hold their own privacy policy, which you can see here.

Access to Personal Information

  • As an Area Coordinator and Registered Individual, you may access personal information of other Registered Individuals for the purposes of the campaign. You must:
  • Only use that personal information to fulfil your role and not for any other purpose.
  • Only share the personal information of Registered Individuals with other Registered Individuals as necessary to facilitate the campaign and keep it secure.
  • Delete any personal information of Registered Individuals that you hold when the campaign is complete.

Access and Correction of Personal Information

  • You are entitled to access and request correction of your personal information that Child Cancer Foundation holds in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.

Area Coordinator - Criminal Conviction Check

  • You must pass a Ministry of Justice Criminal Conviction check before you participate in the campaign as an Area Coordinator. Child Cancer Foundation will not share this information with any other person, unless required to do so in accordance with applicable laws.

Registration of Volunteers

  • If you register another person as a volunteer to collect for the campaign, you confirm that:
  • They have authorized you to provide us with their personal information for this purpose and you have informed them of their rights to access and correct their personal information.
  • You have informed them that Child Cancer Foundation will contact them for the purposes of the campaign, including to confirm their collection shift and share relevant health and safety information.
  1. Child Cancer Foundation Property

You agree to return all Child Cancer Foundation stock provided to you by Child Cancer Foundation to your Area Coordinator or Child Cancer Foundation representative at the end of the campaign and before you leave.

  1. Intellectual Property

You will not use any Child Cancer Foundation logos to create advertising materials, notices, or social media posts about Child Cancer Foundation or the campaign without express written permission.

  1. Representation and Liability

You may not represent Child Cancer Foundation other than for collecting at your selected campaign collection time and collection site without express written permission. To the extent permitted by law, you release Child Cancer Foundation from any liability or claim you may have against Child Cancer Foundation.

  1. Termination and Suspension

Child Cancer Foundation may terminate or suspend your use of the Portal, any functionality provided through the Portal, or your specific account, at its discretion. Child Cancer Foundation may also terminate or suspend your registration at any time, at its discretion, on notice to you. Following termination, you must immediately cease representing and collecting donations on behalf of Child Cancer Foundation and return all Child Cancer Foundation stock and other property, as well as all donations collected, to your Area Coordinator or Child Cancer Foundation.

  1. Privacy Policy and Personal Information

    Child Cancer Foundation collects your name and contact information. We may use the information provided to contact you about the work we do to support children living with cancer and their families. We will hold your records securely as mentioned in our Privacy Policy. You are consenting to receive communications from us, however you can opt out during the registration process using the ‘unsubscribe’ button at the bottom of emails, or by contacting us via phone or email info@childcancer.org.nz.

  2. Data Warranty

Organisations who are listed on the Marketing Association’s Data Warranty Register have demonstrated that they:

  • Collect personal information in a professional and responsible manner.
  • Abide by the Privacy Act and follow Industry Best Practice.
  • Have a designated Privacy Officer to care for customer data.
  • Ensure that only authorised personnel can access personal data.
  • Maintain all personal records in a password-protected system.
  • Regularly train staff on Privacy procedures.
  • Only transfer data via strict security links.
  • Operate only under the terms of formal written contracts.
  • Are required to undergo industry compliance checks
